Contribution Recipients
A contribution recipient is a person to whom you want to direct money collected via your website. For example, you may have a page featuring several candidates that lets site visitors give a little bit of money to each candidate. Each candidate would be a contribution recipient.
The Contribution Recipients section lets you view, add, edit, and delete contribution recipients.
To Search for a Contribution Recipient
- Enter the name or part of the name of the Contribution Recipient.
- Click the Search button.
To Add a Contribution Recipient
- Click the Add Contribution Recipient button. This will take you to the Add Contribution Recipient page.
- Enter a name for the Contribution Recipient .
- Choose the Payment Account associated with this Contribution Recipient.
- Decide whether this recipient should be active or not. Inactive users may or may not be displayed on the itemized contribution form depending on how the itemized contribution form template is configured.
- (Optional) Enter the message you want to have displayed if this recipient is inactive. For example, for a form showing several candidates you may want to mark one as inactive after her election occurs and show the message "This election has already taken place."
- (Optional) Enter the maximum amount that a user can give to this contribution recipient. Note that this is not foolproof; the user can come back to the page later and contribute again up to the maximum. However, setting a maximum prevents someone from making a single gift of more than the maximum amount.
- (Optional) If your organization requires a code be attached to contributions made to this recipient, enter the recipient's allocation code here.
- Click the Save button.
